Animoto is an online package that allows you to create presentations. This package is amazing and I used it to present my project for Level 2 last year. It is basically an online photograph slide show creator.
It has a simple but effective set of layouts that compliment the images and actually helps to enhance the visual experience. With the addition of text frames, captioning and music or audio that you can select from their library or even upload your own you can create just the right mood for your photographic theme.
The package is very easy to use. It has a step by step guide to adding all the different effects.
The pro user level is £29.99 PCM. This gives you some very useful added benefits over the cheaper options. This includes using my own or my clients branding instead of Animoto's, The video can be download in 1080p and music can be uploaded.

Once you've chosen a style, this screen will open up. This is the point where you add your media files (images, video, music and text).
By clicking on the “Add pic & vids”, the following menu will open and you can upload photos from your computer or other sites.
The same happens when you click to change the music as can be seen below.
You can add text and captions to the video using the following dialogue box.
Once you have added other elements such as branding etc then the screen looks like this.
You then can click on “preview video” to see a low resolution rendition of your video. If there is something wrong you can click to return to the above page to make changes.
If you are happy with the video, you can then render it in high quality.

This is the video I created for my Level 1 Unit 211 Presentation.
Web Pages
A recent survey showed approximately 70% of the UK's population now has
access to an internet connection. If you
don’t have a web page, that's a big business opportunity you will be missing
out on if you don't have a web page
So why have a website?
What your website needs to do
So why have a website?
- Your website will be the best tool you have for promoting your business. It will essentially be an online shop window for your business. It will be accessible to customers all over the world. However, it’s imperative that the site is easy to use and kept up to date.
- The internet is 24/7 all year around which means your business is as well without any extra effort or cost needed from you.
- If your business is locally based, a web presence will open your business up to people around the world.
- A well designed website is essential to make your business appear professional. A well thought out website can make customers think your business is larger than it actually is and could even level the playing field with regard to more established competitors.
- The cost of putting together a website will be cheaper than renting premises.
- The internet allows you to enter into conversation
with your customers. This could be surveys, questionnaires or
feedback forms on your website.
This is great for market research to find out exactly what your
customers' experiences and expectations are.
What your website needs to do
- Your website needs to show exactly what your business does. The look and feel of the website, the images you use and the text will all contribute to this. Use plain English, try to avoid big words that will just confuse your customers. If they can’t easily get the information they want, it’s unlikely they will stay on your page.
- Many businesses forget to include vital information such as contact details or opening hours. Many customers will access your website to find out your business address (make sure you include a map) and opening times.
- A 'frequently asked questions' (FAQ) section can be very helpful on your website. If you are being asked the same questions over and over, this will give your customers quick access to the answers they want.
- Keep your website's content fresh and up to date. On my site I put in reviews that I receive. I also have a link to my business Facebook page so it automatically updates my web page with anything posted on Facebook. In this case, photo albums of discos I have done.
This is my business website. It's designed and maintained by my husband. The top banner clearly shows the name of my business.
Below that and on the right hand side of the page are tabs that my customers can click on to see a gallery of my events/pictures, testimonials, links to other relevant websites, my availability and legal pages. Legal pages makes it easy for any clients, or the venues they are using, to view PLI certificate (Public Liability Insurance) and my PAT certificate (Portable Appliance Testing).
The box to the left hand side is a slide show which scrolls through showing the services I offer. And in the middle is the link I have to my Facebook page.
